For 35 years, Alan Winick dreamed about exploring the ocean depths in his very own personal submarine. After several years of research, design and construction, his dream finally came true.
Alan’s 2300 pound, 8 foot long sub is capable of diving to a depth of 350 feet. It carries enough oxygen to keep Alan breathing comfortably for 17 hours.
First launched in 1998, “Explorer” has been used strictly for underwater observation. Why only for observation? Because it has no appendages, no arms, no hands, no fingers. This may soon change.
